When it comes to development and real estate, Machelle Riffe has decades of knowledge in her corner.

Formerly at Keller Williams, she joined the team in 2021 and brings with her skill sets in home building, buying and selling. And she specializes in larger properties, especially horse properties. She recently sold a large commercial portfolio of rental properties.

“I like to sell ranches and larger properties, and I usually bring Bill in on my larger listings. I just enjoy working with him, I’ve known him for so long.”

A 26-year Lake Winnebago resident, Machelle and her husband Jim (a housing developer for Woodland Shores and now Woodland Trails in Greenwood) have lived in the Lee’s Summit area for 33 years.

Machelle is active in real estate and volunteerism in and around Lee’s Summit, quite intentionally, she says.

“I’ve just always been someone who needs to be busy. I gravitate toward things that help people and improve people’s lives. I like being an active member of the community and not just sitting on the sidelines.”

“Any community is so much stronger when people are involved.”

Machelle has been a part of the family business, Riffe Homes, Inc., for more than 30 years. She had previously spent 10 years as Director of Development for Summit Christian Academy and was in promotional sales for Proctor & Gamble Co. before that.

A past Board of Directors Chair for the Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council, Machelle is active in the local Rotary Club. She served on the Saint Luke’s East Board and then served as interim Director of Advancement overseeing Boo Ball, their community fundraising outreach event. She spends her free time horseback riding, boating, hiking, quilting and giving time back to Lee’s Summit, as well as with family and her granddaughters, Emmy and Charlotte.

A Grandview High School graduate, Machelle holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She’s been married to Jim for more than 34 years

“People energize me and real estate is a career that allows a lot of people time. I truly love everything about it, including putting together the deal and the negotiating process. My background has prepared me well for uncovering each family’s story and creating a marketing plan for their home.”
