No one on the Bill McCoy team may know him better than Kara – they attended Lee’s Summit High School together with Kara graduating in 1984.
Kara said she’s always known and respected Bill, even more so now that she joined his team in September of 2016.
Of course, her respect for the profession goes all the way back to 1999 when she first got her real estate license. And for nearly 18 years, Kara has been helping families find that perfect home. In fact, she’s sold multiple generations a home – everything from move-ups to down-sizing.
Kara’s experience runs the housing gamut from new construction, resale and senior living to villas and townhomes and working with investors that were buying properties in blighted areas during the market crash.
Surviving highs and lows in real estate comes a little easier on the words of wisdom from her mom, “This too shall pass,” Kara said, remembering all things are temporary.
A Kansas City resident, Kara’s husband of 27 years, Darrell, is a long-time member of the KC Fire Department and they have three adult sons and two grandkids. Two of her boys are also firefighters and the third is a welder in Texas.
When she isn’t helping families land their dream home, Kara said she and her husband love to travel – be it Italy, Belize, Cozumel or Honduras. And next up? Ireland, Scotland, London or Alaska.
And when she’s eating out around KC, Kara picks Gram & Dun for a steak and Brussel sprouts – because, as she says, at least you think you’re eating something healthy.
