Pleasant Hill Homes for Sale
As more and more business, commerce and residential opportunities move east in Jackson County, Pleasant Hill – situated at Missouri 7 and south of U.S. 50 highways – will continue to see an uptick in population.
In the past three decades, the population has nearly doubled to over 8,200 residents, a long way from 1828 when the first settlers came to the area in northern Cass County. Pleasant Hill was filed as a village in 1844 with a total of 40 residents then.
Today, Pleasant Hill is a suburban Kansas City town with access to state and local parks, a historic downtown corridor and the westernmost city on the Katy Trail, thus becoming the closest town to Kansas City to connect to the Katy Trail.
The city’s Parks and Recreation department features seven baseball/softball fields, disc golf, a soccer complex, MoPac Trail State Park, City lake and park, a veteran’s memorial, football field, fitness park, swimming pool and the Stone Creek Nature Trail.
Pleasant Hill is also the home of the Cass County Fair and Fairgrounds. The annual fair takes place each July with competition livestock shows, rodeos, motorsports, carnivals, fair fare, music and exhibits.
The Pleasant Hill R-3 School District operates on five campuses with more than 1,800 students attending the primary, elementary, intermediate, middle and high schools.
